age of daughter will be y-5

x-5=7(y-5)
x-5=7y-35

five years hence,
age of mother will be x+5
age of daughter will be y+5
atq,
x+5=3(y+5)
x+5=3y+15
x=3y+10................equation2

that implies 7y-30=3y+10
7y-3y=30+10
4y=40
y=10
putting the value of y in equation 1,
x=7(10)-30
x=40

Age of mother =40
Age of daughter =10
