when a huge amount of charge builds up in the cloud, the insulating property of air breaks down, and molecules in the air become charged. thus, the air becomes the conductor of electric current.

Anonymous: see could you ask me the question more clearly ?
AYUSHI3333: ummm......i have already asked the question clearly....plzz think abt it's ans
Anonymous: . We don't get shock unless there's a current flowing through the body.
AYUSHI3333: but our body is a good conductor n it can conduct electricity
Anonymous: There's no path for the current to flow as long as he or she is touching a wire.
AYUSHI3333: but if the air is conductor of electricity n elecric charges r flowing through it n our body being a good conductor will naturally conduct those charges n b'coz of high current....we will die
Anonymous: are you asking during the lightning?
AYUSHI3333: yes
Anonymous: okay
Anonymous: lightning is more likely to strike projecting objects such as trees, poles, and buildings because the materials in them provide an easier path to the ground than air.

becse the lightining dislocate(disturbes)the arrangement of the positively and negatively charged ions in the air, the electric charges from the cloud moves only from negatively charged ions, as you can see lightning does not fall exactly on the surface of the earth

AYUSHI3333: hmm may be
