SOLUTION :-

=>In 18x^5

(coefficient)

=>coefficient of x^5 = 18

=> As we know that ,

=> General term of expression (a+b)^n is.

=> T(r+1)= n^C(r) a^(n-r) b^r

=> General term of expression (x+3)^8.

-------(1)

=> [putting, a = x, b = 3, n = 8, ]

=>T(r+1)= 8^C(r) x^(8-r) 3^r

=> Now, we need to find coefficient of x^5.

=> So, x^(8-r) = x^5.

=> Comparing powers.

=> 8-r = 5

=> r = 8-5

=> .°. r = 3.

Now,

=> [putting, (r = 3) in equ.(1)]

=> T(3+1)= 8^C(3) x^(8-3) b^3

=> 8! /3! 5! x^5 × (3×3×3)

=> 8×7×6×5! / 3!×5! × x^5 × (3×3×3)

=> 1512 x^5.

Therefore, the coefficient of x^5 is 1512.
