when marble is put in HCl
CaCO₃+HCL⇒CaCl₂+CO₂+H₂O
and when co₂ is passed though Ca(OH)₂
it tun milky due to formation of CaCO₃
following reaction took place
Ca(OH)₂+CO₂=CaCO₃+H₂O
