Heya !!!

here is your answer !!!

when the acid react with carbonate IT form corresponding salt carbon dioxide and water.

for example :-

HCl + CaCO3 ==> CaCl2 + H20 + Co2

======================= ============

your question is how can we test the presence of carbon dioxide am I right ??

ok !!

let me explain !!!

to know the taste of carbon dioxide we have to do an experiment :-

here in prosedure of experiment;-

1) take the quicklime ( CaO )

2) when the acid react with carbonate there is release of carbon dioxide gas

3) so to know the presence of gas release the gas in Quicklime !!!

4 ) after releasing gas into quicklime you observe that there is formation of calcium carbonate ( CaCO3 )

So here is the reaction that show presence of carbon dioxide in CaO reaction

CaO + Co2 ==== => CaCO3

here , we take the carbon dioxide from acid and carbonate reaction.

now this experiment show the presence of carbon dioxide in carbonate and acid reaction

hope it helps you dear!!!

thanks !!!
