ǫᴜᴇsᴛɪᴏɴ :-

  • The length of the longest segment which can be drawn in a rectangle of length 84 cm and breadth 13 cm is ______.

Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-

  • Length (l) = 84 cm
  • Breadth (b) = 13 cm

ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ :-

  • Longest segment (diagonal)

sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

Now,

On using Pythagoras Theorems, we get,

Diagonal² = Length² + Breadth ²

(d)² = (l) ² + (b) ²

d² = (84)² + (13)²

d² = 7056 + 169

d² = 7225

d = √7225

d = 85

Hence,

  • Longest segment (diagonal) is 85 cm

Hence,

  • Option (B) 85cm is correct option

\huge\purple{\mathbb{ANSWER}}

➢ Length = 84 cm

➢ Breadth = 13 cm

➢ Longest segment = Diagonal

(Diagonal)² = (Length) ² + (Breadth)²

↦(Diagonal)² = 84²+13²

↦(Diagonal)² = 7056 + 169

↦(Diagonal)² = 7225

↦Diagonal = √7225

↦Diagonal = 85

Diagonal = 85 cm

✬ Answer = (b) 85 cm
