KHADI

Late in the night
someone decided to fight
not for anyone's right
but to make their own future bright

Britishers they were
and they talked on murmurs
when vision was blur
their mission was conquered

They were successful
their joys blissful
thinking we were lulls
but we could charge like an angry bull

When they made us their slaves
we never tried to be brave
for food we did crave
but then, we thought we are slaves

Silently among us
was working a mind which was full of disgust
for those who distrust
and so he wanted the Britishers to rust

He was the Mahatma
the reincarnation of Rama
his actions touched the atma
pure were his karma

Non violence was his chosen path
nothing will happen aftermath
that's what everyone else thought
but he continued and fought

He used the delicate thread of khadi
and invited everybody
to use it on their body
though everyone was moany

At last people strated to use it and feel nationalism
and spread this feeling through journalism
slammed their plagiarism
and used mass communication

They were defeated
Gandhiji and the khadi was warmly greeted
history had been created
and so was the feeling do this khadi

The khadi was glorified
the Britishers were horrified
such was the power
of the delicate thread of khadi.
