Seeing the darkness(illiteration) on the land
God get pity
made him to send a bright star (teacher)
to fill the earth with fireflies (intellectuals)
Brightness of this country
increase by contribution of
Fireflies for the welfare of country
Investment for the future -
today's upgrading fireflies who
creates the glowing future.
So, Go ahead, Rock the world
It is your world
make it large and smart with
Helping hands towards the illiterates
Irrespective about caste and poverty
Build a brightful India
Providing education to little buds
See the fafulous future of nation
by taking Teaching as a national mission.

There is no light around
No light to light the candle
Oh, please give me a burning star
that would give light to the unlit candle
Oh, give me the light of education..
do give
this has become the question of the entire nation
please, do give
the unlit candle is asking so
do give..do give
How do I give?
If the question is held, then
it is by Making teaching a National Mission.

Interpretation of the poem:
---------------------------------------------------------
In a nutshell, this poem is one which explains why teaching has to be made a national mission by describing the education-hungry nation's want of education. The "light" in this poem refers to education - the light of education. The "unlit candle" is the illiterate nation asking for the "light" to lit it. The "burning star" is the jwala or light that the "unlit candle" needs. Then, it is found that the way to lit the candle is by making teaching a national mission.
