Poem-The voice of the rain-Question1:what does really surprises the poet? Question2:How does the rain purify and boutify the earth?

The poet gets really surprised because his question has been answered and that also by the rain.
The rain purifies the earth by giving life to the barren grounds or droughts , by showering the water drops it cleans the tiny dust particles and atomies . It return back to that place only from where it has been born .
