The demand for the separate state of Uttarakhand first appear in Karachi session of Indian National Congress in 1930.This matter was further taken by ahead by P.C.Joshi. The earlier name of Uttarakhand is Uttaranchal but in 2007 it renamed as Uttarakhand.The first Agriculture University of India is in Uttarakhand.And Hemkund Sahib is the famous pilgrimage site of Sikhs.
