Polar Easterlies are cold and dry. Why it is so?

Poles are cold and dry areas and winds blowing from these high pressure polar areas are cold and dry too.


Polar easterlies are cold and dry winds coming from polar highs of North and South poles towards low-pressure Westerlies at high latitudes.


Cold air from the poles moves out causing a high pressure in the area and as a result, equatorward outflow of air takes place which gets deflected towards west by Coriolis effect.
