Chalk is made up of powder, by compressing it, since when the powder is compressed, by a large force they are joint to each other by a temporary force, as the chalk is broken, we can not apply compression force on the chalk, because it will broke the remaining chalk as well, as the chalk particles are connected to each other by a temporary force. that's why we can not rejoin the chalk easily.

Answer:

we cannot re-join the broken chalk easily, because it is solid. the force of attraction is very little so we can't re join it. there is more abstraction
