there were only six recognize national political parties in the country these are:--

1. indian national congress (inc)

it is popularly known as the congress party.which is one of the oldest party in the world.founded in 1885 ,the congress party played a dominant role in indian politics for several decade's after India's independence.it is a centrist party (neither rightiest nor leftist) in its ideological orientation,the party support secularism and welfare of weaker sections and minorities.

2. bhartiya janta party (BJP)

it was founded in 1980 ,by reviving the erstwhile bhartiya jana sangh .the aim of party is to strong and modern india drawing inspiration from ancient culture and value.
