Answer:

Explanation:

→ The Yamuna and Ganga river are one of the largest rivers in India. The Ganga river is one of the most polluted rivers in the world and poses major threats to the human populous based around it. The Yamuna river is not as polluted as the Ganga, however, after the Wazirabad barrage and Okhla barrage there is a discharge of waste which makes the river become dangerously polluted.

There have been many attempts to clean the polluted water of the Ganga and stop the nearby residents to use it as a dump for their waste but these attempts have always failed.

As for the Taj Mahal, there have been reports talking of air pollution causing irreparable damage to the 17th century monument. This has forced the government to take serious measures and invest almost £90m on programs that aim to work on the preservation of the world famous monument. Thousands of tourists come to India every year to see the Mahal and if it is not preserved then India will loose a large portion of its yearly income that it makes because of the popular tourist attraction.
