Marked price of watch bought by Poonam is Rs 2560

Solution:

Need to find the marked price of watch

Given that cost price of watch C.P = Rs 1600

Selling price of watch S.P = C.P + profit

Given that profit is 20%

Profit = C.P x profit % = 1600 x 0.20 = 320

Hence S.P = 1600 + 320 = 1920

Let’s assume marked price M.P = x

S.P = M.P – discount on marked price

1920 = x – 25% of x

=>1920=x-\frac{25 x}{100}

x = 4 \times \frac{1920}{3} = 2560

Hence marked price of watch is Rs 2560.
