Let the population of the town 2 years ago be 100x.
Then 6% people migrated in 1 st year so population of town after first year = 100x- people who migrated
=100x- 6/100× 100x= 94x. After that in 2nd year, 4% people migrated so present population = 94x -4/100× 94x =94x-3.76x= 90.24 x. So it is given that present population is 631680. Hence we can say that 90.24x=631680=> x= 631680/90.24 => x=7000
So the population of the town 2 years ago is 7000×
100 => 7,00,000.

THANKS FOR THE QUESTION !

_____________________________

GIVEN :

=> THE PRESENT POPULATION :

=> 6,31,680

_____________________________

=> LAST YEAR 4% PEOPLE MIGRATED

=> YR BEFORE THAT 6% PEOPLE MIGRATED

_____________________________

LET,

=> THE POPULATION OF THE YR BEFORE THE LAST YR :

=> 100 X

_____________________________

=> THE POPULATION DECREASED 6% IN THE YR BEFORE LAST YR

=> 6% OF 100X DECREASED :

_____________________________

=> 100X - 6X :

=> 94X

=> STILL 96X IS THE POPULATION IN THE TOWN

____________________________

SO,

=> NEW POPULATION WILL BE 94X

____________________________

AFTER THIS YR 4% POPULATION DECREASED :

=> 4% OF 94X

=> 4 / 100 * 94X

=> 3.76X

____________________________

=> 94X - 3 .76X :

=> 90.24X

=> 90.24X IS THE POPULATION STILL LIVING IN THE TOWN

____________________________

BUT WE HAVE GIVEN THE POPULATION :

=> 6,31,680

____________________________

=> 6,31,680 = 90.24 X

=> X = 6,31,680 / 90.24

=> X = 7,000
_____________________________

THE POPULATION IN THE YR BEFORE LAST YR :

=> 100X

=> 100 * 7,000

=> 7,00,000

_____________________________

HOPE IT WILL HELP U......

THANKS AGAIN......
