Ratio of females to males = 8:7
then let females be = 8x
and males be = 7x
total population = 15000
ATQ,
8x+7x = 15000
⇒ 15x = 15000
⇒ x = 15000/15 = 1000.
Hence, total no. of females =8x = 8 X 1000 = 8000.
and total number of males =7x= 7 X 1000 = 7000
