Answer:
Her ready wit, clear vision, persuasive eloquence, dignity, and courtesy never was there a more charming lawyer combining herself. She performs the triple role of a jury, judge and a loyal woman. She begins at first with an appeal to Shylock's mercy. She puts all her persuasive eloquence through her speech on the quality of mercy. She describes mercy as a unique gift dropping like the gentle rain from heaven on parched land. It is a double blessing - a blessing to the giver and receiver; alike mercy is a divine attribute. But all her appeals fall of the deaf ear of Shylock.
