This can be solved using an example.
Let the number which is to be multipled be x
Now, x=100
So by mistake divided by 10 so 100/10 =10
But should be multiplied by 10 so 100*10 = 1000
Error % = (1000-10/1000) *100= (990/1000)*100 = 0.99*100= 99%

original number = N
expected = 10 N
what is done = N/10.
error = [N/10 - 10 N] = - 9.9 N
% error
= error / expected result * 100
= -9.9 N / (10 N) * 100 = - 99 %
expected = 10 N
what is done = N/10.
error = [N/10 - 10 N] = - 9.9 N
% error
= error / expected result * 100
= -9.9 N / (10 N) * 100 = - 99 %
