its an ionic compound cz it is made of potassium metal and chloride non metal.

KCl ( Potassium chloride ) is an IONIC COMPOUND since it has an ionic bond .
Potassium is a metal whereas chlorine is a non metal .
Now , bonds formed between a metal and a non metal is called a covalent bond , hence a covalent compound .
