Potassium nitrate (KNO3) reacts with sulphuric acid (H2SO4) to form nitric acid (HNO3) and potassium bisulphate (KHSO4).
The following equation shows this reaction:
KNO3 + H2SO4 -–-> HNO3 + KHSO4.
Sodium nitrate (NaNO3) reacts with sulphuric acid (H2SO4) to form nitric acid (HNO3) and sodium sulphate (Na2SO4).
The following equation shows this reaction:
2NaNO3 + H2SO4 -–-> 2HNO3 + Na2SO4
Hope it helps ...... :-)
