difference between electrode in electrolysis is electrode is a metallic terminal and negative or positive which helps in the process called electrolysis in which water is decomposed into hydrogen gas and Oxygen gas in this process hydrogen gas is collected by downward displacement of water as as a mixture of hydrogen and air is explosive show hydrogen gas is not collected by downward displacement of air though oxygen is collected by downward displacement of air a mixture of oxygen in air is not explosive.
