U=x^2 -5x. (eq (1))

on differentiation

U = 2x-5=0

2x=5

x=5/2

putting value of x in eq (1)

U = (5/2)^2 - 5*5/2

U = 25/2 - 25/2 = 1

It is stable equilibirm .
