3 Ohms + 3 Ohms = 6 Ohms

3 Ohms + 3 Ohms = 6 Ohms

The fifth resistor is parallel with the

two 6 Ohms series combinations.

1/Re = 1/6+1/6+1/3 =1/6+1/6+2/6 = 4/6

1/Re = 2/3

Re = 1.5

Total current = 1.5V/1.5Ohms = 1 Ampere

.5 Amperes through 6 Ohms parallel 6 Ohms

.5 Amperes through 3 Ohms

Each 6 Ohm series combination carries .25 Amperes.

Power = I²×R = (.25)²×3 = .1875 Watts

(Answer: (2) 0.187 W)
