PQRS is a parallelogram of area 120cm². If PS=10cm and PQ=15cm, find the measures of SM and altitude PM. ​

Answer:PM = 8 cm

SM = 6 cm

ar(PQRS) = 120 cm^2

Base SR = 15 cm

PM( height ) = 120/15 = 8 cm

Now in ∆ PSM

( PS)^2 = ( PM)^2+(SM)^2

100 = 64 + SM^2

SM^2=100-64

SM^2=36

SM=√36=6 cm
