Rectangle pqrs and triangle poq have same base PQ and lie between the parallel SR and PQ

so, ar(POQ)=1/4ar(PQRS)

area of rectangle =l.b

l=20m

b= 28m

=20m.28m

=560sq.m

1/4 ar(PQRS) =1/4.560

=140

area of the shaded region = total rectangle area - triangle area

=560-140

=420

therefore area of shaded region is equals to 420 metre square

Answer:

Area of rectangle = l×b

= 20×28

= 560m^2

= 1/4×560m

= 140m

= 560-140m

= 420m^2
