A wired network is also called an Ethernet network. The best practical day to day example of this is the connection of two or more computers, printers or any other set of peripherals using Ethernet cables. This network can be used along with other wired or wireless networks.

In the case of wireless networking, the connection among peripherals is made using high-frequency radio waves. As a result, the mobility is more in this kind of networking. The best and most common example of this kind of network is a Local Area Network (LAN) in a computer laboratory.
