The distance covered = 180km

Let Prason's speed =  xkm/h

Time taken = Distance/Speed

                   = 180/x

If he cycled 2 km slower every hour, his speed would have been = (x-2)km/h

Time taken = 180/(x-2)

This is 3 hours more that the previous time:

180/(x-2) - 180/x = 3

3x² - 6x - 360 = 0

x  = 12 km/h (see the attached solution)

Prason actually cycled at 12km/h
