Pre pollination event includes development of male gametophyte. The microspore mother cell divides to form four haploid microspores. A microspore is the first cell of gametophytic generation. Before pollination, it divides into two cells, the vegetative cell and the generative cell. After pollination, the vegetative cell forms the pollen tube which is called pollen germination. Then, the generative cell divides to form two male gametes which reach the ovule through pollen tube.

Devlopment of male gametophyte starts in pollen grains ,while still present in the microsprangium or pollen sac. microscope undergoes onluy two mitatic division .First mitatic division leads to formation of vegtative cell generative cell......
