Ans) The preamble of India seeks to secure to all its
citizens “Equality of status & of opportunity”.

By equality of status it means legal & social equality.

a) Legal
Equality – Under article 14 constitution provides - Equality before law &
equal protection of law. It means in the eyes of law everyone is treated equal.
It also provided for that treat should be treated alike.

b) Social
Equality – To provide for social equality, the constitution mandates abolition
of untouchability (Article 17), abolition of titles (article 18),

Equality of opportunity refers broadly to economic equality.
It’s provided for in Fundamental rights & Directive Principles of state
policy of Indian constitution.

The Preamble proclaims the intention to establish a sovereign, şocialist, secular, democratic republic in India. → It states the objective to establish social, economic and political justice. → It states the resolve to grant freedom of thought, expression, faith, belief and worship. → It assures equality of status and opportunities. → It assures dignity of individual, fraternity among the people and unity and integrity of the nation.
