we have to find value of acceleration due to gravity at a place using some pendulum.

take a simple pendulum of length L = 1m, time period of simple pendulum is 2sec .
from formula,
time period , $T=2\pi\sqrt{\frac{L}{g}}$
or, $g=\frac{4\pi^2L}{T^2}$

put L = 1m, T = 2sec and π = 3.14

so, g = 4π² × 1/(2)² = π² ≈9.8 m/s²

hence, acceleration due to gravity on earth surface will be 9.8m/s²
