Precise measurements of physical quantities are a need of science. For example, to ascertain the speed of an aircraft, one must have an accurate method to find its position at closely separated instants of time. This was the actual motivation behind the discovery of Radar in World War II. Think of different examples in modern science where precise measurements of length, time, mass etc. are needed. Also wherever you can, give a quantitative idea of the precision needed.

It is to be sure obvious that exact estimations of physical amounts are fundamental for the improvement of science. For instance, ultra-shot laser beats (time interim ∼ 10 – 15 s) are utilized to quantify time interims in a few physical and substance forms .

X-beam spectroscopy is utilized to decide the between nuclear partition or between planer dividing .

The advancement of mass spectrometer makes it conceivable to gauge the mass of molecules accurately .

Hii friend,

Precise measurements are necessary but upto certain extent.

For example,
- We use micrometer screw gauze to measure length accurately.
- For measuring the mass of atoms accurately we use mass spectrometer.
- Digital thermometer is used now instead of conventional ones.

Hope that helps you...
