Preetha was observing live cells of onion in lab and she observed cell wall, cytoplasm
and nucleus clearly. Suddenly her friend spilled a few drops of salt water on slide. After
sometime. Preetha observed the slide and found some changes.

a) Explain the reason for the changes observed in the cell .

onion cell is a example of plant cell....
In the salt solution , cell sap have high concentration of water as compared to the outer solution....so the onion cell becomes flaccid (shrink in appearance)
This process is know as osmosis. ....and the solution is hypertonic solution...
And the condition is exo osmosis.
