Answer:

100 rupees

Step-by-step explanation:

Total Cost=Rs x

Handbag cost (H)=3/5x

Cost of Dress (D)+ Belt (B)=x-3/5x=2/5x ie D+B=2/5x---(1)

Handbag Cost=2 D

Dress Cost= 20+ Belt (B) ie D=20+B ie D-B=20---(2)

Handbag cost (H)=3/5x=2D

D+B=2/5x---(1)

D-B=20---(2)

Add equation 1 & equation 2

D+B + D-B=2/5x+20

2D=2/5x+20

3/5x=2/5x+20 (substituting 2D=3/5X)

3/5x-2/5x=20

x/5=20

x=100

Total cost preeti had in the beginning =Rs 100

Handbag cost (H)=3/5x=3/5x100=Rs 60

Dress Cost = Rs 30

Belt Cost=Rs 10
