Bhopal disaster is also referred to as a Bhopal gas tragedy was a gas leak incident on the night height of 2 3 December 1948 at the union carbide India Limited (ucil) pesticides plants in Bhopal Madhya Pradesh India it was considered as of 2010 to be the world's worst industrial disaster. after the disaster the government did S union carbide and demand of compensation of Dollar 3 billions for the victims . however the compensation finally accepted was only dollar 470 million. and individually victims received very small amount Warren Anderson chairman of union carbide in 1984 was charged with manslaughter . but not punished the plant stop production but continue to hold stock of toxic Chemicals seepage of these Chemicals into the soil poisoned the groundwater in the area would think the local people at risk
