✌☺Hiii here is your answer✌☺

The cumene hydroperoxide process is the dominant process used in the commercial production of acetone.Acetone is also prepared by the dehydrogenation of 2-propanol (isopropyl alcohol).

Current method. Acetone is produceddirectly or indirectly from propylene. Approximately 83% of acetone is producedvia the cumene process; as a result, acetone production is tied to phenol production.

Acetone is an important solvent and widely used in the synthesis of drugs and polymers. Currently, acetone is mainly generated by the Cumene Process, which employs benzene and propylene as fossil raw materials. Phenol is a co-product of this synthesis.

Answer:

In laboratory, acetone is prepared by dry distillation of anhydrous calcium acetate. (CH3COO)2CaΔ CH3COCH3+CaCO3 Method: 30-40 gm of calcium acetate mixed with equal amount of sodium acetate is heated in a glass retort fitted with a condenser and receiver. Acetone is collected in the receiver.
