Grignard reaction with aldehydes and ketones

To produce a primary alcohol, the Grignard reagent is reacted with formaldehyde. Reacting a Grignard reagent with any otheraldehyde will lead to a secondary alcohol. Finally, reacting a Grignard reagent with aketone will generate a tertiary alcohol.
