Tamilnadu Contributes lot of Natural resources to all other States on India generously, but get back little in my opinion. In Fact Tamilnadu is losing it natural charm because of this excess sharing, hurting the interest of the state. (The proposed Methane gas project is an example) .
In addition to legal sharing smuggling of great resources like Sand to Sandalwood also happens but I exclude that. There is no use in listing that. Nothing is going to stop.
Tamilnadu lacks only in few things : Water, Fossil Fuel and minerals like Zinc, lead, limestone, cobalt (But we got plenty of Thorium) and for these Tamilnadu needs share from outside.
But the Resources (Natural and Artifical ) it share with others is Huge. The list of Resources Tamilnadu shares with others are :
LIGNITE AND ELECTRICY : You may claim it as Central Resource, But Assam Takes royalty for Fossil fuel, Tamilnadu generously gives it Lignite to Center and never treated lignite and Electricity generated from that as Tamilnadu’s right. In fact Tamilians are very proud that NEYVELI is the Beacon light for entire South India. And they will never say that Lignite belongs to us only.
NUCLEAR POWER : We are facing a great risk and supply power to others, because of the Availability of Sea water required for nuclear plant, and both Kalpakkam and Koungulam feeds other states without a Court or Tribunal required to tell you have to give to others also.
RENEWABLE RESOURCES : Forest and Wildlife. Bannanas, Mangoes, Rubber. Sugarcane ,Tapioca and flowers of Best quality. Also livestock, Fisheries and poultry.
LEATHER : We have spoiled our Palar river and produce leather for others. Tamilnadu accounts for 70% of tanned leather, 28% of leather footwear. Before wearing your shoes next time think of Tamilnadu’s share and acknowledge.
TEXTILE :We have spoiled our Noyyal river and produced Textile for others. Coimbatore is the Manchester of South India. Coimabatore and Thiruppur generates Employment and Economy not only for Tamilnadu but entire for entire South India.
