There are different resources found in all over the country and the state I live in is Assam, the resources which are found in a very large quantity in this state are the following:
- Coal
- Petroleum
- Natural Gas
- Limestone
- Crude Oil ( this is the most important mineral of the state)
The coal is used by the railway and for hydropower.
Assam is also responsible for providing raw materials to different industries.
Natural gas is not a very important mineral in the state so only a small quantity is utilized the remaining is the wasted limestone which is used as raw materials for cement.
The resources which are deficit in the state are
- Iron Ore
- Forest Resources (forests provide numerous natural resources but they are not found in Assam)
- Electricity
Assam has a power potential in terms of coal, oil and natural gas, so a lot of projects can be done with this state but this state is lagging behind in terms of installed power capacity(electricity)
