The four main causes of beggars are:

1. Poverty: The prevalence of poor people in India is still high and many are still dying of hunger. Begging becomes the last resort for them.

2. Illiteracy: This can be related to poverty as poverty can lead to being illiterate or illiteracy can often lead to poverty.

3. Quota system: Our country still differentiates between different castes and creed, i.e. quota system is mainly based on the caste system and not the economical background( very less percentage).

4. Huge population: This is one of the main striking reasons for all the problems faced by India. This is related in some way or the other to all the other factors.
