Microorganisms helps us in many ways in our day to day life Some bacteria transform harmful substances into simpler harmless substitutes. Some microorganisms are harmful and even cause diseases in both plants and animals. They help in decaying fruits, vegetables and other food items in plants. In humans, some microorganisms that are beneficial to us are:-

i) Rhizobacteria

ii) Penicillin

iii) Lactobacillus

In humans, it can cause many diseases such as typhoid, diarrhoea, cholera, etc. they are:-

i) Virus

ii) Protozoa

iii) Fungi
