This may be considered as phenomenal growth. It has attained 30,000 MW in  January 2014. During this time, wind power installation has been observed grown ten times and solar energy growth from zero to 2,500 MW.

Currently, renewable energy accounts for about 12 percent of the total kinds of electricity generation and contributes about 6 percent of the electricity produced in India.

Renewable source, therefore, produce more than double the amount of electricity produced by all nuclear power generation plants in the country.
