"An Unexpected Encounter"
I was waiting at the platform still doubtful if I should leave everything and go. Suddenly, someone tapped me on the shoulder. It was an old man with a toothy smile on his face. He leaned in towards me and said, "Young boy, could you help me buy a bottle of water? I cannot seem to find the shop at the station."I obliged his request and asked him to sit on the bench while I go and fetch the bottle. When I came back, the man was gone. Instead, there was a note left on the bench, which read, "Have a sip and take it easy. Life is short but you are young, you have the time of your life yet to be encountered. It takes 72 muscles to frown but only 14 to smile. Hydrate yourself and think about what you got to do." Something felt lighter inside me as if I had let go of a burden I was carrying. I decided to go back home. I spoke to my parents about all the misunderstandings we had and resolved our fight, which was the reason I had packed up everything and was ready to leave.
Today, I am glad I stayed back.
