superpower is a country with a dominant position in the international system, which has the ability to influence events in its own interests and project power on a worldwide scale to protect those interests.
However in a deeper sense according to me, a country which fulfils the following parameters is a superpower:
· A strong political system which is democratically elected
· Economic stability with productive reforms
· Trained manpower with a manageable amount of population
· High level of technical expertise and defense capabilities
Thus if we analyse India from all sides, then we can easily see that India has all the ingredients to be a superpower. We, the people of this great nation, have to work with unity to make India a superpower by 2020-25. We have to work with vision and passion. Swami Vivekananda has rightly said “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached. “
An essential criterion for a country to be a superpower is that it should have high level of technical expertise and military capabilities. Now it is beyond doubt that India is a world leader in IT services and we have been a knowledge of hub in the past as well as the present. As far as space technology is concerned, ISRO is renowned for satellite building and launching. However for India to excel in the field of technology and bridge the gap between rural and urban India we have to fulfill the dream of connecting every region of India with the Internet. India is the world’s largest arms importer and has spent money to the tune of $50 billion after the Kargil conflict to strengthen itself. With its global presence and participation, India will become a permanent member of the United Nations in coming times.
