Double displacement reactions are the reactions where one component of each of the molecule reacting exchanges to form a new product.

To form two new products, the cations and anions switch places and react. AB + CD -> AD+ CB.

In neutralization, HCl(aq) +NaOH(aq) -> NaCl(aq)+H20(l).In this an acid is reacting wth a base and forming salt and water.
