Livelihood and the changing planet

Livelihood literally means "needs of securing basic facilities of life." Livelihood is a vast topic to write about. Livelihood can make a country into a developed one. Every human in a country use different methods to acquire livelihood regardless of hook or crook. We all have to calm down and think, have we all actually got livelihood?

With the name of livelihood, gymnastics have destroyed trees around us. For cement buildings, we have left our basic need for life - oxygen providing greenery. The planet is changing hugely just with term 'livelihood' at the side. This teen is being misused in many countries of the world including our own country India.

We have destroyed trees which is now causing global warming, which affects the floods and droughts. Floods and droughts have now become regular visitors due to the misusal of the term 'livelihood'. The flora and fauna of our planet is in a great threat due to deforestation. Infact, livelihood and environment go hand in hand.

But mind you! livelihood is not only related with the environment. It is also closely linked to our old traditions and cultures, which you these days are neglecting. They have forgotten the cultures of our diverse country - India, and instead started following western cultures and traditions.

In olden days, Rangoli was drawn in front of houses. This gives a beauty and also since Rangoli was made of rice, it helped in keeping insects away. But now, youth do not draw Rangoli and some of them just put stickers of Rangoli. Now, this is of no use!

Some say that people (especially girls) must not wash their hair on certain days ( This can vary according to their beliefs ). Elders say this because they knew that they had to save water. When it is made compulsory, water will be saved and no-one would break it too! But nowadays, we find it illogical.

However, we have to make sure that our livelihood is not lost. Thus, we all have to give hands to each other and put them together. We all must have one aim and that is save livelihood for the future generation.
