Given:-

Present age of Meenu and Mukul are in the ratio 3:4. After five years from now the ratio of their ages will be 4:5 .

Find:-

Present ages of Meenu and Mukul ?

Solution:-

{ According to given }

The ages of Meenu and Mukul are in the ratio 3:4 { before 5 year's }

Let, present age of Meenu be 3x and present age of Mukul be 4x .

Now, { after 5 years }

  • Age of Meenu = 3x + 5 ..... ( 1 )
  • Age of Mukul = 4x + 5 ..... ( 2 )

To Find :-

Present age's of Meena and Mukul

According to question { or given } the ratio of age's of Meena and Mukul after 5 year is 4:5 .

Hence, { from ( 1 ) & ( 2 ) }

Put value of x in

  • Age of Meenu = 3x
  • Age of Meenu = 3(5)
  • Age of Meenu = 15 year's

Put value of x in

  • Age of Mukul = 4x
  • Age of Mukul = 4(5)
  • Age of Mukul = 20 year's

Hence, present age of Meenu is 15 year's and present age of Mukul is 20 year's .
