Present ages of Anu and Raj are in the ratio 4 Ratio 5. Eight years from now the ratio of their ages will be 5 Ratio 6. Find their present ages I HOPE YOU WILL GIVE CORRECT ANSWER . PLEASE FOLLOW ME ........ BYE......

Let the common ratio be x .

So, present age of Anu = 4x

and present age of Raj = 5x

After 8 years , Ratio of their ages will be 5:6 ___(1)

But Anu's age will be 4x+8 after 8 years and Raj's will be 5x +8 . ____(2)

From 1 and 2 ,

4x+8/ 5x+8 = 5/6

By cross multiplication

6(4x+8) = 5(5x+8)

24x + 48 = 25x +40

48-40 = 25 x -24x

8 = x

So , present age of Anu = 4x = 4×8

= 32 years

Present age of Raj = 5x = 5×8

=40 years

Given that :-

  • Present ratio of Anu and Raj 's age is 4:5 .

  • After 8 years there ratio will be 5:6 .

To Find :-

  • There present age.

Solution :-

\sf{\implies \frac{Anu}{Raj} = \frac{4x}{5x} }\\

After 8 years there ages will be :-

\sf{\implies \frac{4x + 8 }{5x + 8} = \frac{5}{6} }\\

Cross multiplying :-

\sf{\implies (4x+8)6 = (5x+8)5 }\\

\sf{\implies 24x + 48  = 25x + 40 }\\

\sf{\implies 48 - 40 = 25x - 24x  }\\

\sf{\implies 8 = x }\\

Putting value of x in the 1st ratio :-

\sf{\implies \frac{Anu}{Raj} = \frac{4(8)}{5(8)} }\\

There present ages are :-

  • Anu → 32 .

  • Raj → 40 .
