Present ages of mohit and mayank are in the ratio 11:8.After 8 years,the ratio of their ages will be 5:4.Find their present ages.

mohit's age=11a,

mayank's age=8a,

(11a+8)/(8a+8)=5/4,

44a+32=40a+40,

44a-40a=40-32,

4a=8,

a=2,

then
Mohit's age=11×2=22 yrs,

Mayank's age=8×2=16 yrs

let their present ages be 11x,8x yrs.
after 8 yrs mohit's age will be 11x+8 mayank's 8x+8
so 11x+8÷8x+8=5÷4 now solve x and just multiply by 11 and 8 for mohit and mayank's age resp.
