Present ages of Ram and Rahul are in the ratio of 3:7. 9 years from now the ratio of their ages will be 6:11. Find their present ages

Let Ram and Rahul age be 3x and 7x

After 9 years there age will be

Ram age=3x+9

Rahul age=7x+9

A.t.p

(3x+9)/(7x+9)=6:11

(3x+9)/(7x+9)=6/11

11×(3x+9)=6×(7x+9)

33x+99=42x+54

99-54=42x-33x

45=9x

45÷9=x

x=5

∴Ram age= (3x) 3×5=15 years ANS

and Rahul age= (7x) 7×5=35 years ANS
